Janet is a seasoned leader with experience from association executives and academic leadership including served terms as Department Chair. She is currently the Chair Support Coordinator for Mount Royal University. She would be pleased to offer onsite training, webinar-based support and/or consultation services for academic leaders including assistant chairs, chairs, associate deans, deans, directors and managers working in post-secondary settings.
Dr. Miller has organized training for student clubs, university departments, and community organizations on a variety of topics including burnout prevention, stress management, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership. Sessions can be organized as 90 minute workshops, half-day events, or full-day experiences. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Team planning sessions last from 3 to 12 hours (across one, two or three days) and include opportunities for teams to work through best practices using appreciative inquiry, SWOT analyses, goal setting, and strategic plan development.
Workshops can be scheduled for groups of up to 20, and are designed to be interactive and personally meaningful. Dr. Miller’s recent workshops have revolved around identity and health, resiliency, leadership development, and personal goal setting. Other topics are available upon request and interventions can be tailored to fit the needs of your group.
ASIST is a standardized, interactive, two-day suicide first-aid workshop. Janet has been a trainer with the Centre for Suicide Prevention for nearly 20 years.
